Ein goldenes Sommerkleid in XXL, das Wassereis in der Hand tropft langsam auf den Asphalt. RIOT NOT DIET entwirft eine queer-feministische Utopie fernab von abstrusen BMI-Normen und männlicher* Deutungshoheit. Fünftausend Jahre Patriarchat haben Spuren hinterlassen –
denn trotz voranschreitender Emanzipation sind weibliche* Körper noch immer auf Anpassung getrimmt. Möglichst leise, grazil und platzsparend sollen sie durch die Welt zu schweben. Doch in diesem Film begegnen wir dicken Frauen* und Queers, die Widerstand leisten. Statt sich für ihre ausladenden Maße zu
schämen, sprengen sie mit ihren Körpern die Ketten verkrusteter Geschlechterstrukturen und fordern selbstbestimmt Platz für sich ein.
Die Lust an der eigenen, überquellenden Leiblichkeit bildet einen radikalen Gegenentwurf zur neoliberalen Verwertungslogik unserer Gesellschaft. In Zeiten von Selbstoptimierung ist deine Wampe eine Demo! Queer Fat Feminism!

A golden summer dress in XXL, the ice lolly drips slowly onto the hot ground. RIOT NOT DIET creates a queer feminist utopia far away from BMI norms and male* gaze. Five thousand years of patriarchy have left their mark – for in spite of ongoing emancipation, female* bodies are still geared to conform and to float through the world with a quiet, graceful and space-saving appearance. However, in this film we encounter fat women* and queers who resist. With their expansive body dimensions they break the chains of outdated gender structures and claim space for themselves. The pleasure of their own, overflowing corporeality is an alternative draft to the neoliberal logic of exploitation. In times of self-optimization, your belly is a statement! Queer fat feminism!
